Hospitals and Clinics
In short
- For hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, diagnostic centres and laboratories in Tamil Nadu.
- Most of a hospital's income is exempt from GST, and many of its prices are set by insurers and government schemes.
- Much of its cash waits with them. So costing, credit and receivables work differently here.
What usually goes wrong
- Package rates from insurers, TPAs (third-party administrators) and government schemes are fixed in advance. Whether a package covers its cost is known only from costing that follows the patient.
- Department results are only as fair as the way shared costs are spread and doctor fees are worked out.
- A claim billed is not a claim paid. The difference usually sits in deductions, queries and delays.
- Stock that expires, goes missing or is used without being billed is a direct loss.
- Credit on common costs is not split between exempt and taxable income. The hospital then loses credit it could keep, or keeps credit it has to repay with interest.
What we do for you
- We cost each bed-day, procedure and package, and compare it with the rate actually received.
- We prepare department and speciality profit statements, with a stated basis for shared costs.
- We check doctor fee-sharing and payout calculations against the agreements.
- We age insurer, TPA and scheme receivables, and analyse what was deducted from claims, and why.
- We reconcile pharmacy and consumable issues to patient bills, and report near-expiry stock.
- We split exempt and taxable income for GST, and the credit that goes with it.
We work from your own records, and we show you how each figure was worked out.
