Common questions
Can you work in our existing software?
Yes. Tally, Zoho Books, Busy and Excel are all fine. There is no requirement to change systems, and if the system is genuinely limiting you, we will say so rather than working around it indefinitely.
Our books are two years behind. Can that be fixed?
Yes. Backlogs are cleared period by period, with reconciliations done as we go so the closing figures actually tie out. Once the books are current, a monthly routine keeps them there.
Do you prepare accounts for proprietorships and partnership firms?
Yes, along with LLPs and companies. The format differs, but the discipline behind them is the same.
Do you carry out statutory audit of companies?
No. Statutory audit of a company is reserved for a Chartered Accountant. We prepare the accounts, schedules and supporting workings and coordinate with your statutory auditor, which usually shortens the audit.
Can you handle payroll along with accounting?
Yes: salary processing, PF, ESI and professional tax computation, TDS on salary, payslips and registers, and full and final settlements, reconciled with the books each month.
Who keeps custody of our data?
You do. We work on your system or on files you share, through the channel agreed for the engagement. Access is limited to those working on your matter.
How is month-end closing supposed to work?
On a calendar with named owners: bank and party reconciliations, GST and TDS tie-outs, stock reconciliation, then provisions and accruals, so the trial balance can be reviewed by a fixed date each month. Most delays trace back to one or two reconciliations that have no clear owner.
Accounting and reporting requirements differ by entity type and applicable law, and are assessed for each engagement. Services reserved by law for other professionals are coordinated with them.
